Material Characteristics
High light transmission and low haze values make polycarbonate film one of the highest clarity films available. This makes polycarbonate film a favorite choice for high end second surface graphics applications requiring clear or transparent windows. Also available in textured and matte finishes.

Performance Characteristics
Polycarbonate can be stressed from by cold-forming, flexing or embossing, which causes the film to craze or stress-crack. Elevated temperatures can initiate or accelerate this type of degradation. In these situations, an alternative material, such as Polyester, should be considered.
Some organic chemicals, such as acetone, toluene and halogenated hydrocarbons, will act as solvents to polycarbonate film and damage the surface. A hard-coating can be added to polycarbonate film to help protect the film from exposure to aggressive or incompatible substances. MPC strongly recommends performance testing when there is a question of polycarbonate film resistance to substances encountered in end-use.
