Polyester is one of the most versatile films for decals, nameplates, tactile switch overlays, graphic overlays, safety and informational labels primarily because of its balance of physical, thermal, optical and chemical properties. Polyester films are an ideal choice when the following are key considerations:

- Abrasion resistance
- Electrical insulation
- Heat resistance
- Chemical resistance

- Polyester outperforms polycarbonate in chemical resistance
- Polyester has a longer lasting flex life of tactile switch overlays than polycarbonate
- Polyester is primarily an indoor application film. However, there are special hard-coated polyester films available for outdoor and high humidity applications.
