Exceptional Durability
Metalphoto is photosensitive anodized aluminum that produces a high definition silver halide image sealed beneath a clear, sapphire-hard surface layer. Metalphoto parts remain legible for 20+ years even in an outdoor environment.

The National Association of Graphic and Product Identification Manufacturers (GPI) Industry Standards and Practices Manual identifies Metalphoto photosensitive anodized aluminum as the most durable printed aluminum substrate available, and it has been trusted by defense, military, and government organizations for over 60 years.
Unmatched Graphic Capabilities
In addition to its unmatched industrial durability, Metalphoto’s 3556 dpi photographic resolution image can support graphic elements that other materials and printing methods simply can’t achieve. Metalphoto can produce gradients, watermarks, halftones, and a more highly detailed images than virtually any other imaging method.
Subsurface screen-printed spot colors can also be added to the black and silver Metalphoto image.
Durable Full Color Printing
UltraColor is our proprietary digital imaging process which produces a full-color 1440 dpi anodized aluminum sealed beneath a clear, sapphire-hard surface layer which is impenetrable to abrasion, chemicals, moisture, humidity, corrosion, and cleaning products.
In addition to Metalphoto and UltraColor, Metalphoto of Cincinnati manufactures panel overlays in polyester (PET), polycarbonate (Lexan), and vinyl. Also, two-piece panels with a polymer overlay laminated to a metal structural panel are available.
